Since 2005 I go to Kiev 2-3 times per year for few weeks at the time. Love this city. I preferred to stay at hotel Hyatt or Premiere palace due to its conveniences and location. But I tell you. Spending 2-3K per trip just on accommodation can become expensive. I have cash) but prefer to spend it on other things in Kiev. And trust me, Kiev has lots to offer...) Few years ago as usual hanging out art O'Brian's Irish pub around a corner from Hyatt I met Alex. Guy run this UARent company. They offer private apartments near the independence square for daily rent. We had a few drinks and nice talk. Any way for about 80$ per night Alex put me in this nice one bedroom flat right next to O'Brien's on Mikhajlovskij lane 4 (Pereulok Mikhajlovskij). Apartment has all you need. You get fully staffed kitchen, large flat TV, fast wifi, which is free and most valuable- privacy. No need to sign in your guests at the reception if you have girl staying over with you. Another nice thing. There office is right across the street on Mikhajlovska street. So if I need anything they come immediately. And if I am bored or have questions I can always come to there office to hang out or have a chat. Alex's wife Oksana has a dating agency so it was another nice thing). Few years ago I had them both in Miami, Florida for diner. Well, ever since, coming to Kiev, I always take there flats and they are my guests in Florida. Few advices for travelers. When you take apartment. Try to be in center. Aria from Independence square to Arena entertainment center in the best to stay. You can also consider Podol, but only first few blocks on Sagaidachnogo street near Postal Square (Poshtova ploscha). Another less expensive option Lesi Ukrainiky street. Near new business center Parus. You only 3 meters away from Arena center and not that far from Khreschatik. Another advice: watch out for money scams. Whenever someone picks up on a street a stack of cash asking if it's yours or offering to split it - walk away without saying anything. This is scam but I am sure you know about it. Any way good luck to you all and enjoy your stay in Kiev.
